where did you wash up my dear was the tide kind to you?

did it deliver you a slow easy ride or did you slide on the sand on your ear?

me i've been fishing the waters been crystal clear

i've been going with the ebb and flow throwing my line in a wishing

for that big fish that i can see swimming under my boat

orange and black on the underside swimming around for a snack

i see him and he sees me he's so big he takes up the bay

by the time i return with an extra tease he's gone and it starts to rain

my heart is pounding out of my chest as i wrestle with the line

a tug and a jolt my hook disappears i think that i gave it my best

but if i had just been quick enough putting on the bait

i would've had half a chance i wouldn't have to sit here and wait

for that big fish that i can see swimming under my boat
